Nexstar Names Curt Molander WEHT VP-GM

The TV executive with more than 22 years of experience will lead the Evansville, Ind., ABC affiliate and also oversee CW affil WTVW under an outsourcing agreement.

Nexstar Broadcasting Group today appointed Curt Molander vice president and general manager of ABC affiliate WEHT Evansville, Ind. (DMA 103), and its associated digital and mobile assets including TriStateHomepage.com and Tristate on the Go. He succeeds Arika Zink, who Nexstar named VP-GM of its Roanoke, Va., duopoly WFXR-WWCW in July.

In his new role, he will also oversee Nexstar’s relationship with the market’s CW affiliate WTVW through an outsourcing agreement with Mission Broadcasting.

Molander will assume his new responsibilities immediately and will report to Bill Sally, Nexstar SVP and regional manager.

Molander’s broadcasting career spans over two decades, with expertise in station management, local and national sales, new business development and strategic planning across multiple media platforms.

Prior to joining Nexstar, he was GM of WJHG and WECP in Panama City, Fla. Prior that, Molander spent five years at WMTV Madison, Wis., as national and general sales managers.

Earlier in his career, he worked as a national account executive at Petry Television in Chicago and as a local account executive at WKOW Madison, Wis., and both WIFR and WREX Rockford, Ill.

Molander earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from Southern Illinois University.
