‘Page Six TV’ Announces On-Air Talent

The upcoming syndicated offering will be hosted by John Fugelsang and contributing editors will include Mario Cantone, Bevy Smith, Elizabeth Wagmeister and Carlos Greer. The show from Endemol Shine North America begins a three-week test on Fox stations in seven cities on July 18.

Two editors of the New York Post’s Page Six gossip page will make contributions to the new syndicated Page Six TV show adapted from the newspaper section, but the principal on-air positions will be filled by others, according to an announcement today made jointly by the Post, Endemol Shine North America (lead producer on the project) and Fox Television Stations.

FTS is the prospective launch group for the show, a daily, half-hour strip to be produced in New York. It’s scheduled to get a three-week test on Fox-owned stations in New York, Los Angeles, Philadelphia, Dallas, Atlanta, Detroit and Tampa Bay starting July 18.

The host and on-air support personalities named today include John Fugelsang — a comedian and actor who was once John McEnroe’s sidekick on McEnroe, a talk show on CNBC — has been tapped as host.

Four others have been named as the show’s “contributing editors and insiders”: Flamboyant comic actor Mario Cantone, Bevy Smith (seen on Bravo’s Fashion Queens), Variety reporter Elizabeth Wagmeister and Carlos Greer, a reporter on the actual Page Six.

Page Six editor Emily Smith and deputy editor Ian Mohr “will provide further updates and insight, as well as exclusive first looks into the latest breaking stories from the newsroom,” the announcement said.

The team of producers on the show include Kay O’Connell (formerly of Jimmy Kimmel Live) and Matt Strauss (The View) as executive producers, “alongside NY Post CEO and Publisher Jesse Angelo and Endemol Shine North America’s Rob Smith and Michael Weinberg,” the companies said.

BRAND CONNECTIONS

“The original ‘Page Six’ column and PageSix.com are iconic gossip destinations and ‘Page Six TV’ is a natural extension of the brand,” said Angelo in a prepared statement. “We are very excited about the talented roster of contributors who will each bring their own unique perspective, experience and gossip A-game to the show.”

“We’ve pulled together the perfect team of on-air personalities and reporters to deliver the insight, intrigue and fun of ‘Page Six’ to the Fox TV Stations’ audience,” said Charlie Corwin and Cris Abrego, co-CEOs of Endemol Shine North America. “In each episode, our contributors, as well as the audience, will go head-to-head to see who has the latest breaking news, the smartest take and funniest observations.”
