CBS TV Distribution Restructuring Continues

LoCascioHackettSteven LoCascio becomes chief operating officer for CBS Television Distribution, while Stephen Hackett becomes the group's president of sales.

Two high-ranking executives of CBS Television Distribution received promotions Thursday following the appointment of Paul Franklin on Wednesday as the CBS syndication unit’s new president.

The two are Steven LoCascio and Stephen Hackett. LoCascio was named chief operating officer for CTD. He had been executive vice president and chief financial officer of CTD since 2006.

Hackett was named president of sales for CTD. He had been executive president and national sales manager for CTD since 2007.

Both men will report to Franklin, who CBS lured away earlier this week  from Twentieth Television, where he had worked for 28 years — as EVP and general sales manager for the last 10 of them.

In their new roles, LoCascio “will be responsible for running the day-to-day operations of CTD and guiding its strategic direction while working closely with the division’s business, finance, administration and information technology functions,” said the announcement from CTD. “LoCascio will also continue in his role as CFO of worldwide distribution, including CBS Studios International.”

Hackett succeeds Joe DiSalvo, who has been president of sales for CTD since 2002. He is “transitioning” to an “advisory role” with the company, CTD said. Hackett’s new responsibilities will include overseeing “all of the division’s broadcast syndication sales efforts for first-run and off-network programming, a portfolio [comprising] six of the top 10 series in first-run syndication and an off-network library of 70,000 hours of programming,” the company said.

BRAND CONNECTIONS

As part of the restructuring, former CTD President Armando Nuñez was named president and CEO of CBS Studios International, heading up international sales and licensing of CBS syndicated properties.
