CBS and Dish Network said Monday night that they have failed to reach an agreement on a new carriage deal. As a result, CBS’ broadcast network, several stations owned by CBS including in Los Angeles and New York, as well as CBS Sports Network, Pop and the Smithsonian Channel, are now dark on the nation’s No. 2 satellite service. The news comes as the companies’ contract expired at 10:59 PM PT.
The actor Daniel Dae Kim — in his new role as executive producer — was turned down twice by CBS before landing the show at the last-place network.
Fox’s media/entertainment businesses, which have been rumored to be for sale, could be worth $50 billion in a potential sale, according to one report. Fox is considering selling many of its non-sports, non-news TV businesses, which Michael Nathanson, senior media analyst for MoffettNathanson Research, estimates could essentially split the company in half — leaving $45 billion in sports and news assets.

NBC plans to stream more than 1,800 hours of content during its coverage of the 2018 Winter Olympics from PyeongChang, South Korea, next year.
