Blindspot, Life In Pieces and Quantico lead the season’s crop of newcomers. NBC is completing the traditional primetime season having launched five of the season’s top 10 new series in adults 18-49, to CBS’s three, and ABC and Fox’s one each.
The 2015-16 TV season doesn’t officially wrap until mid-week, but CBS will finish No. 1 in the 18-49 demographic for the second time in the last four years which, coincidentally, is the last time it had the Super Bowl, as it did this soon-to-wrap season.
Over the next two weeks, 58 primetime broadcast series will have their season premieres, meaning Twitter feeds will fill up with actors and producers of those shows talking about those season premieres. Although it’s still next to impossible to say whether social engagement drives linear ratings, networks wouldn’t even consider making social media an afterthought.
