Priscilla Parish has quietly stepped down as the head of drama at BBC Studios after four years. Parish joined the BBC’s commercial production unit in October 2019 from Line of Duty and Bodyguard producer World Productions.
BBC Studios is eyeing more Los Angeles expansion after Mark Linsey relocates early next year, while Linsey has unveiled changes to his scripted team. The BBC veteran was revealed at Mipcom to be relocating across the pond in January, where he will continue in his role as managing director for scripted. Once there, he will be placed “geographically closer to key global content decision makers” as he oversees BBC Studios-owned indies including Killing Eve producer Sid Gentle, Small Axe firm Turbine Studios and Sherwood’s House Productions, along with BBC Studios Drama Productions.
BBC Studios has named formats veteran Nicholas Oakley as SVP, unscripted development for LA productions, as the operation seeks the next generation of hits. Deadline revealed in April that the U.S. arm of the BBC’s commercial outfit was creating the role and Oakley, who joins from his head of development post at Hollywood Game Night producer Mission Control Media, will now work with the L.A. unscripted team to conceive and develop original content ideas and build domestic and global formats. He will also leverage his relationships with U.S. buyers to pitch and sell entertainment and factual series.
