‘Cougar Town’ Gets New Address: TBS
The cable network will air season 4 of the Courteney Cox sitcom and gets the rights to the earlier three seasons that aired on ABC.
Cougar Town is very much on the bubble but a possible cancellation by ABC would not necessarily spell the end of the underrated comedy about a group of wine-loving friends. TBS has been in talks with Cougar Town producer ABC Studios about potentially picking up the series starring Courteney Cox if ABC ends up canceling it.
For the past month Cougar Town co-creator and executive producer Bill Lawrence has been waging a social media campaign to promote his ABC comedy, with little help from the network.
‘Cougar Town’ Likely To Return In March
Cougar Town is likely to return in the March, said ABC Entertainment president Paul Lee. The news comes as Cougar Town showrunner Bill Lawrence — having been excluded from the network’s TCA day — hosted his own party for television reporters at the Langham Huntington Hotel in Pasadena on Monday night.
ABC Picks Six Shows For Early Renewal
The network today that it has renewed Modern Family, Grey’s Anatomy, Castle, Cougar Town, The Middle and Private Practice for the 2011-12 TV season.
