Eric Meyrowitz, executive VP and group head of Hearst Television, has been named chairman of the NBC affiliates board. He succeeds Emily Barr, Graham Media Group president and CEO, who has announced her retirement.
Longtime industry executives Ashley Gold and Eric Meyrowitz will share in management oversight of company’s portfolio of 33 TV and two radio stations.
He will oversee sales operations of the company’s television and radio stations and various web platforms.
The group broadcaster chooses WPIX GM Eric Meyrowitz to oversee sales activities at Hearst’s 29 stations along with Kathleen Keefe.
Eric Meyrowitz, WPIX vice president and general manager, is out at Tribune’s CW affiliate in New York City. Meyrowitz has been at the helm of WPIX for three years, moving to New York in 2011 from WDCW Washington. A replacement has yet to be named.
