The Broadcasters Foundation of America held its annual breakfast Wednesday during the NAB Show in Las Vegas. The Foundation honored several industry leaders. Six honorees received the Leadership Award, and Erica Farber received the Lowry Mays Excellence in Broadcasting Award. The seven awards will be presented at the BFOA Breakfast on Wednesday, April 17, during the NAB Show in Las Vegas.

RAB CEO Erica Farber Leaving

After a dozen years as president-CEO, Erica Farber is stepping down from the Radio Advertising Bureau. She will be succeeded by Mike Hulvey, a member of the RAB’s executive committee, who joins from CEO of Neuhoff Media. He joins RAB as CEO  on  April 1, 2024.

Radio Needs Consistent Strategy On Digital

Radio has had a bumpy transition to digital, struggling with the high costs of streaming audio, the slow growth of digital sales operations and the rise of major pureplays like Pandora and Spotify. In an interview with NetNewsCheck, Erica Farber, the Radio Advertising Bureau’s new president-CEO, says that radio is still hampered by inconsistent digital strategies across the industry, but she’s confident that its strong ties to local markes can help it to gain a digital edge.
