Ken Burns’ Holocaust, NBC’s Quantum Leap join 36 returning shows Sept. 18-24 as the new TV season rolls out gradually through October.
ABC has firmed up its midseason schedule, setting up early 2021 premiere dates for its scripted series. That includes ABC’s returning scripted series and new comedy Call Your Mother, starring Kyra Sedgwick.
The season premieres of the two comedies back a week. Superstore will debut on Oct. 29 rather than Oct. 22, and Connecting…, a COVID-era show from Blindspot creator Martin Gero and Brendan Gall, is set for Oct. 8 instead of Oct. 1.
The CW, like Fox, has largely corona-proofed its fall schedule. The younger-skewing broadcast network is delaying the launch of nearly all of its new and returning shows for January — a strategy many industry insiders predicted could occur amid the near industry-wide production shutdown.
