Fall has never been a particularly strong part of the year for Fox. But this fall may be even weaker than in past years. The network has few returning hits and only a handful of new shows with potential, which could lead to real ratings struggles. That’s the takeaway from a recent Media Life poll inviting media buyers and planners to weigh in on the fall season. Asked to vote on which Big Four network has the weakest schedule for fall, the largest share, 40% chose Fox.
In spite of the millions watching the Games on any given night, history suggests that exposure during the Olympics does not necessarily drive viewers to new shows.
