In what appears to be a new wave of CW layoffs, several senior scripted executives have left the broadcast network, including Gaye Hirsch, EVP, development, who is departing after more than 15 years, and fellow CW veteran and head of department, EVP, Current Programming Michael Roberts, who had been at the network (and its predecessor the WB) for 21 years, sources say.
The CW’s Gaye Hirsch, head of scripted development, has been promoted to EVP, development, taking over the top programming post at the network that had been held by Thom Sherman until he left in May to go to CBS.
Following CW drama topper Thom Sherman’s recent promotion to EVP development, his lieutenants Gaye Hirsch and Joanna Klein have been named co-heads of the network’s drama development department.
