Gray Blames Feds For Local News Cuts In Casper
The group says that since the DOJ blocked its acquision of a CBS affiliation in Casper that would have given it essential retrans revenue, it’s merging news operations at its NBC affiliate KCWY Casper, Wyo., with those of its KGWN in Cheyenne and cutting back in Casper.
The station group is purchasing the CBS affiliate from Mark III Media. The price wasn’t disclosed. The move follows the news last week of Gray’s agreement to buy KCPM Fargo, N.D.
Since last Friday, Jeff Platt, Tony Cedrone and Amanda del Castillo have left Gray Television’s NBC affiliate in Wyoming.
