The Advertising Council, the organization that has worked with Madison Avenue since 1942 on public service campaigns for charities, nonprofits, social causes and the federal government, is naming a new leader who has experience in all three of its constituencies: agencies, marketers and the media. Lisa Sherman will become the president-CEO of the council as of Nov. 1, succeeding Peggy Conlon, who said in late April that she would retire after 15 years at the helm.
