Lowe’s said it stands by its statement on Sunday that it pulled its ads from TLC’s All-American Muslim after the show became a “lightning rod for people to voice complaints from a variety of perspectives — political, social and otherwise.”
The retail giant stopped advertising on TLC’s All-American Muslim after a conservative group known as the Florida Family Association complained. Calling the Lowe’s decision “un-American” and “naked religious bigotry,” California State Sen. Ted Lieu called the move “un-American” and “naked religious bigotry,” and said he would consider legislative action if Lowe’s doesn’t apologize to Muslims and reinstate its ads.
