The award will be presented at The Broadcasters Foundation’s annual breakfast in las Vegas during the NAB Show in April.

At this year’s NAB Show, broadcasters will see an increasing lineup of new cameras that support 4K acquisition for the future while delivering HD imagery for today. It’s reminiscent of the changes that took place when the industry prepared for the switch from NTSC to 1080i and 720p HDTV. This is the first installment of a special series on emerging tech trends, NAB Hot Topics, that will appear each week leading up to the NAB Show that runs April 11-16 in Las Vegas.

In his speech on April 15, the FCC chairman is expected to update broadcasters “on the FCC’s progress on the TV spectrum incentive auction and a host of other items currently under consideration at the commission,” said NAB President-CEO Gordon Smith.

Lucinda Hutter Cavell, senior engineer and practice manager at Cavell Mertz & Associates is the recipient of TVNewsCheck’s fifth annual Women in Technology Leadership Award, which will be presented during the NAB Show in April.

The new exhibit area, located in the South Upper Hall of the Las Vegas Convention Center, will feature dozens of aerial robotics companies, a flying cage, demonstration area with seating and daily sessions.
