The first projects launching on NBC.com are Saturday Night Line and Heroes prequel Heroes Reborn: Digital Series.
Five senior NBC.com employees were laid off Wednesday. Word is that the shakeup is part of a restructuring and staff overhaul implemented by NBC’s new digital chief, Robert Hayes EVP digital media, who joined NBC last summer. The positions are expected to be refilled.
NBC.com was hacked into on Thursday morning, said security experts who believe the site might have have infected visitors’ computers with malware. The site is back up now. But cyber security researchers cautioned against visiting the site on Thursday afternoon, saying the malware that many Web browsers warned visitors of could be used for fraud or spying.
