The WGA East has asked the NonfictionAssociation to start contract talks for a deal that would cover work by writers and producers on reality TV shows. The move prompted a chilly response.
Rick Feldman is stepping down from his post as executive director of the Nonfiction Producers Association, the trade group formed last year to represent unscripted production companies. Feldman, a TV biz vet who previously headed the National Association of Television Program Producers, was recruited by NPA founders to help get the association on its feet. He intended from the start to hand the reins to a permanent exec director once the group was established.
