Huge Football Audience Powers Fox To No. 1
A huge lead-in audience from Sunday’s final NFL playoff game lifted two Fox animated shows to season highs last night. The Simpsons posted a 5.2 adults 18-49 rating at 8 p.m., jumping 49% from its most recent original episode, which drew a 3.5 on Dec. 15. Lead-out Bob’s Burgers drew a 3.2 at 8:30 p.m., up a third over its previous original episode. They got a big assist from football. The final hour of the game averaged a 12.7 from 7 to 8 p.m., including a 13.3 from 7 to 7:30.
