CBS is planning a royal sendoff for it’s departing king of latenight. Outgoing Late Show host David Letterman, who will step down on May 20, will be the subject of a 90-minute primetime special celebrating his legendary career. David Letterman: A Life on Television will air on May 4 and will be hosted by Ray Romano, whose long-running CBS sitcom was produced by Letterman’s Worldwide Pants Inc.
Despite the troubles he caused Two and A Half Men, Charlie Sheen commanded $1.8 million an episode, making him the highest paid TV star of all time. Ray Romano runs a close No. 2, having earned $1.7 million for each Everybody Loves Raymond episode
by the series’ end.
