The Capitol Broadcasting Raleigh-Durham, N.C., CBS affiliate’s new tablet app is moving away from a text-heavy scrolling interface to a swipeable, visually driven minimalist approach. The company sees the StepLeader-designed app as an important piece of its larger mobile strategy.

ABC Tries Social Network Test With ‘Revenge’

People who download and click onto the “Into Now” smartphone and tablet application during the May 16 and 23 showings of Revenge become eligible for a free summer trip to New York’s Hamptons beach area, where the drama’s story is based. ABC and Yahoo are trying to take advantage of the growing trend of multiscreen use, or people who spend time on their phones or iPads while the TV is on. Yahoo’s “Into Now” app tries to make all of that easier.

Networks Hope TV Tablet Apps Are Hits

TBS is launching a Team Coco “synch” app for iPad and Android tablets, allowing viewers to interact live with exclusive content and features developed specifically for a co-viewing experience. If not from the start, it’s a sure bet advertising will become a big part of the app soon.
