NBC has picked up a 23rd edition of The Voice — which will be the last one for Blake Shelton. The country singer is the only judge, or “coach” in The Voice’s preferred description, who has appeared in every season to date. NBC announced Tuesday that it has renewed the show for season 23, which will be its first spring edition in two years after skipping one in 2022.

In a battle of reality competitions, NBC’s The Voice finished first on Monday among viewers 18-49, while the season premiere of ABC’s Dancing with the Stars topped the night among households. The Voice averaged a 4.0 adults 18-49 rating from 8 to 10 p.m., according to Nielsen overnights, the top program of the night in the demo and up 8 percent from a 3.7 last week.


‘The Voice’ Dominates Monday In Week Two

The Voice remained nearly as strong in week two as it was in week one. The NBC reality show posted a 4.5 adults 18-49 rating from 8 to 10 p.m. last night, down only 4% from last week’s season premiere. The show dominated each half hour, peaking with a 4.9 from 9:30 to 10. NBC won all six half hours on the night.


A Big Return For NBC’s ‘The Voice’

The Voice returned to big numbers last night, though not quite as big as last fall’s debut. The hit NBC singing show posted a 4.7 adults 18-49 rating in its sixth-season premiere from 8 to 10 p.m. Monday night. That was down 8% from its fifth-season premiere in September, but up 18% from the show’s fall finale in December. It was also a tenth behind the fourth-season premiere last spring, which posted a 4.8. The show was easily the highest-rated program of the night on broadcast.
