Outgoing Asoociated Press chief Tom Curley on the news organization getting paid for content: “To get the Internet companies to pay fair value, that was challenge No 1, and to some extent it still is. … We are at a point where we need to step up again and show folk that you just can’t run off with the entire wire.”

AP CEO Tom Curley To Retire

Tom Curley, president and CEO of The Associated Press since 2003, will step down this year, AP announced today. The search for a successor has been launched by the AP board of directors.
