Mediocre Good Enough In Tough TV Season

The big broadcast networks have separated fall’s keepers from its rejects as they assemble their plans for midseason replacements.Seven of 21 new series will face the ax by January, along with CBS’ Medium and CW’s Life Unexpected. But many weaklings will hang on in a generally anemic fall season, a stark contrast to last year, when new hits such as Fox’s Glee, ABC’s Modern Family and CBS’s The Good Wife and NCIS: Los Angeles built momentum.
