Here’s one more way buyers can evaluate this fall’s new dramas: by seeing how many TVGuide.com users added each one to their Watchlists.
A month after CBS Corp. acquired 50% of TV Guide, the company that encompasses TVGN (formerly TV Guide Network) and TVGuide.com, CBS is in the process of taking full ownership of TVGuide.com.
The online TV navigation site could go for about $20 million — possibly as much as $25 million, Deadline reports — and would enable Lionsgate to cash in on a property that’s considered peripheral to its main production and TV networks businesses.
In a unique social TV partnership, TVGuide.com has replicated USA Network’s second-screen experience, Character Chatter, onto its site. Viewers who visit TVGuide’s summer preview section can participate in real-time social conversations around USA shows like Burn Notice and Covert Affairs, just like they can on USANetwork.com.
