WATL Atlanta Launching Primetime Newscast

The Tegna-owned MNT affiliate WATL Atlanta (DMA 10) will debut news in primetime today from co-owned NBC affiliate WXIA. 11Alive News: Primetime will air from 8 to 10 p.m.


WATL Adds Temporary 7 P.M. Newscast

Tegna’s Atlanta MNT affiliate this week added a 7 p.m. newscast with no fanfare, replacing a repeat of The Andy Griffith Show. Two sources said the newscast is temporary and tied directly to accommodate a flood of political ads in the hotly contested House seat race that have filled the inventory on co-owned NBC affiliate WXIA. They said the newscast will end after the runoff is over June 20.

Sinclair Sets First Syndie Deal For ‘Ring Of Honor’

Sinclair Broadcast Group today announced that it has signed its first syndication deal for the company’s Ring of Honor Wrestling. WATL Atlanta Lands Bounce TV

New African-American television network Bounce TV will launch in Atlanta on Gannett’s WATL when the new network debuts on Sept. 26. The deal marks Atlanta-based Bounce TV’s first agreement with Gannett.
