Wayne Martin, the longtime general manager of Gray Television’s Lexington, Ky., CBS affiliate told his staff that he will retire at the end of the year. A replacement has not yet been named.

Gnawing Critter Knocks WKYT Off Air

An animal chewing through a power line Wednesday night caused a disruption for many viewers of the men’s basketball game between the University of Kentucky and Auburn University that aired on Gray Television’s CBS affiliate in Lexington, Ky. The station was off the air for 10-12 minutes while a back-up generator kicked in.

WKYT Lexington Adding 10 A.M. Newscast

Beginning Sept. 12, the Gray Television Kentucky CBS affiliate will launch a new half-hour newscast at 10 a.m. It’s the first such mid-morning newscast in the market, which has seen 4 and 7 p.m. options added for viewers in the past year by NBC affiliate WLEX.
