Allen Media Group on Monday hired Nancy Eagle as senior vice president of business & legal affairs. She will focus on business and legal affairs related to the development and production of movies, television series, and other premium content for distribution via the AMG platforms Allen Media Group Television, Allen Media Group Motion Pictures (AMGMP), the AMGMP digital distribution unit Freestyle Digital Media, the free-streaming service Local Now, as well as external streaming services and distribution platforms.
Eagle reports directly to Mark DeVitre, AMG executive vice president and general counsel, and is based at the AMG headquarters in Los Angeles.
She comes to AMG from Boat Rocker Studios, where she was senior vice president, business & legal affairs. Prior to that, Eagle spent 25 years with NBC/Universal as Senior vice president, business & legal affairs where she focused on motion picture, television and family entertainment deals — negotiating acquisition, co-production, negative pick-up, production service, network license, talent and development agreements and supervised all business and legal aspects of productions within the U.S. and abroad.
Prior to that, Eagle spent 10 years at Disney/ABC as director of business affairs where she handled business affairs for movies-for-television, pilot/series productions and specials and helped to create the first in-house production entity for the children’s programming department, which became the model for ABC’s in-house primetime production entity, Greengrass Productions.
Eagle graduated magna cum laude with a Bachelor of Arts degree from Tulane University and earned her law degree from New York Law School.
“Nancy Eagle is an excellent addition to Allen Media Group’s business and legal affairs team,” said Byron Allen, founder/chairman/CEO of Allen Media Group. “Nancy’s experience and success in negotiating development and production agreements for premium content will help us further expand our initiatives as our scripted television and movie division continues to grow.”
