The CW’s The Flash kicked off its season-opening “Armageddon” arc with 764,000 total viewers and a 0.2 demo rating, on par with both its Season 7 averages (820K/0.2) and its July finale (700K/0.2).

Former Netflix exec Bryan Noon has been appointed to the role after the departure of Craig Hunegs earlier this year. Hunegs joined Disney in 2019 but left six months after a major restructure changed his role. Noon, who spent eight years at Netflix, most recently as VP, original series, overseeing the streamer’s business affairs team, will report to Walt Disney Television Entertainment Chairman Dana Walden, who called him the “exact right executive” to lead the team.

Hackman Capital Partners and Square Mile Capital Management had the winning bid, beating out about a dozen or so other parties, these people said. The price tag was also about $500 million more than what the studio was projected to fetch three months ago when it was put up for sale, according to these people. The two sides are expected to sign a contract soon, these people said, and the deal isn’t yet final.
