Fox Taps Medalie For ND In Orlando, Gainesville

WOFL Orlando veteran Melissa Medalie will now oversee news operations at the WOFL-WRBW duopoly as well as WOGX Gainesville, Fla.

Fox Television Stations has promoted Melissa Medalie to vice president and news director of its WOFL-WRBW Orlando, Fla. (DMA 18) and WOGX Gainesville, Fla. (DMA 156).

Effective immediately, Medalie will oversee all editorial, business and administrative functions for WOFL News, reporting directly to VP-GM Mike McClain.

Medalie has been with WOFL for almost 10 years. She has been assistant news director since 2017. Prior to that, she was a senior executive producer and special projects manager.

Previously, Medalie was the executive producer of Good Day Orlando. She began at the station as an executive producer for Fox 35 News at 5 p.m. and Fox 35 News at 6 p.m.

Before joining WOFL, Medalie was managing editor and executive producer for Ivanhoe Broadcast News. Prior to that, she was a reporter at WHP-TV Harrisburg, Pa.; WTVH Syracuse, N.Y.; and WENY Elmira, N.Y.

Medalie began her career in broadcasting as a morning anchor and producer for WENY-AM Elmira, N.Y.

A graduate of Syracuse University’s S.I. Newhouse School of Public Communication, Medalie holds a Bachelor of Science degree in broadcast journalism.
