Fox Weather, Fox News Media’s free ad-supported streaming television (FAST) weather service, has named Sadie Morris as its third annual scholarship recipient in partnership with Mississippi State University. As part of the scholarship, Fox Weather meteorologist Jane Minar will serve as a mentor to Morris during her internship with Fox Weather.
Fox Weather President Sharri Berg said: “It has been such an incredible honor to work alongside Mississippi State University in cultivating the next generation of meteorologists and we’re thrilled to welcome Sadie to our successful program. In our third year, we couldn’t be prouder of our scholarship recipients with Haley Meier now working fulltime at Fox Weather, while Mark Kimoto joining us this summer as an intern.”
Slated to complete her studies at Mississippi State in May 2026, Morris is working toward a Bachelor of Science degree in geosciences with an emphasis in broadcast meteorology. Throughout her time at Mississippi State, she has participated in the university’s National Weather Association and American Meteorological Society Chapter. In 2024, she served as the Technology Committee Chair for the Southeast Severe Storms Symposium.
Previously, she interned for Indianapolis’ Fox affiliate WXIN and CBS affiliate WTTV with a focus on broadcast meteorology where she assisted in forecasting and monitoring weather events during live coverage.
In May of 2023, she earned Mississippi State University’s Meteorology Chapter Travel Award for her passion and pursuit in atmospheric science.
Created in November 2021 as part of a long-term partnership between Fox Weather and Mississippi State to support students pursuing a career in meteorology, the scholarship offers financial aid, mentorship, and the opportunity to serve as an intern for Fox Weather. The recipient is preferred to be an undergraduate with a proven academic achievement record of a 3.0 GPA or higher.
