KTLM McAllen Ups Sarah Garcia To Weekend News Anchor

Telemundo’s KTLM McAllen, Texas, promoted Sarah Garcia to news anchor for Noticias Telemundo 40 on weekends at 5 and 10 p.m.

She will debut in her new role on Saturday, April 27, alongside weather anchor Gabriela Gutierrez and sports anchor Hector Severeyn. Garcia will continue to serve as a multimedia journalist, her role for her five-plus years with Telemundo 40.

“Sarah has been an integral part of our news team for almost seven years, and we are happy to expand her role to acknowledge her contributions and skill as a journalist,” said Iris Rodriguez, KTLM news director. “We are confident her experience and connection with our audiences will continue to enhance our news coverage to best-serve our communities.”

A recipient of several regional Emmy and Telly Awards, Garcia began her career as an intern for KTLM in 2017 before working as a production assistant and becoming a reporter in 2019. She graduated from The University of Texas Rio Grande Valley.
