PADUCAH TV TO PRODUCE NEWS FOR MARKET RIVAL

WPSD, the NBC affiliate in the Paducah, Ky.-Cape Girardeau, Mo., market (DMA 80), will produce a nightly half-hour newscast at 9 p.m. for the market’s Fox affiliate, KBSI, beginning in October.

WPSD is the only TV station of Paducah-based Paxton Media Group, primarily a newspaper publisher. KBSI is owned by Baltimore-based Sinclair Broadcast Group, which owns 58 TV stations in 36 markets.

“WPSD has been a news leader in the Paducah/Cape Girardeau/Harrisburg area for years and teaming with KBSI enables us to bring area viewers a quality newscast in prime-time,†said KBSI GM Tom Tipton.
