Lester Holt has a new way of delivering headlines to the NBC Nightly News crowd. NBC News is updating the look of its venerable evening newscast, which has been on the air since 1970 and hasn’t undergone a significant overhaul of its graphics since Brian Williams sat in the anchor chair. The new presentation will move away from traditional colors associated with evening news programs in favor of purple and a warm blue, says Marc Greenstein, senior vice president of design and product for NBC News and MSNBC. Also on tap: a new “N” that can be used in innovative fashion on the many new screens on which Nightly plays in the era of digital video.

Sinclair Stations Recording ‘Last Chance’ Testimonies From Holocaust Survivors
Sinclair’s WPEC in West Palm Beach, Fla., started recording the testimonies as part of a company-wide project. Brent Struense, WPEC’s marketing and creative services director, says, “We cannot imagine what these people endured and survived.”
The Nexstar Media Charitable Foundation’s mission is to contribute to and work with public charities and nonprofit organizations to improve the communities in which Nexstar Media and its subsidiaries do business. The foundation was established in 1958 and it makes donations of approximately $350,000 annually.
WYFF held a fundraiser to benefit the Spartanburg Soup Kitchen on Wednesday, May 24. This event also celebrated the memory of WYFF News 4’s Mike McCormick and Aaron Smeltzer, two journalists who died five years ago while covering a storm.

Gray Television on Tuesday promoted Matt Jaquint to chief revenue officer and Mike King to chief marketing officer.
In his new role, Matt Jaquint will be responsible for developing advertising sales strategies and best practices across all platforms. He will lead new business development initiatives and sales training programs.
In his new role, Mike King will oversee marketing and brand strategy for company-wide and multi-market station initiatives. He will lead Gray’s design and marketing groups as well as our recruiting team.
For the past several years, Jaquint and King have overseen groups of local markets in their roles as regional vice presidents, senior vice presidents, and currently, senior managing vice presidents. Both leaders will continue oversight of groups of Gray’s television stations and digital properties.
Gray’s Chief Operating Officer Sandy Breland said: “Matt and Mike have proven records of success. The company will benefit from their expanded roles as we leverage their areas of expertise to help guide our local teams to greater success serving local audiences and businesses.”
He will be responsible for overseeing the Tegna NBC affiliate’s marketing operations across platforms and Charlotte Today, a locally produced lifestyle show. Bailey replaces Rob Dwyer, the former marketing director, who is now the general manager at Tegna’s KCEN and KAGS in Waco, Texas.
