Broadcast Partners Hosting 12-Hour Live TV Special To Raise Awareness Of Distracted Driving

TV syndicator Broadcast Partners today announced that on Dec. 8, the company will air a live 12-hour television special produced by Talk TV Network and hosted by Neal Ardman to raise awareness of the dangers of driving distracted. The special will air from 6 p.m. on Dec. 8 through 6 a.m. on Dec. 9 on Dish Network, Direct TV and various cable channels operated by Revenue Frontier and Broadcast Partners. Ardman will be on the air live for the entire special, which will also air on radio stations in Florida and Georgia.

The special will mark eight years since Ardman’s son, Austin, was tragically killed by a distracted driver on Dec. 8, 2015, at the age of 20.

“Losing our son, Austin, was the most painful experience of my life, and I don’t want any other family to go through what we’ve gone through,” Ardman said. “This 12-hour live special is a way for me to honor Austin’s memory and to bring attention to distracted driving, which claims thousands of lives each year. My hope is that it sparks conversations, changes behaviors and, ultimately, saves lives.”

The special will feature a range of guests, including policymakers, safety experts, celebrities and families personally impacted by distracted drivers. Viewers will also see recorded stories from people across the country sharing how distracted drivers have impacted their lives. “The special will only raise awareness” Ardman said. “At no time will we ask for, or try to raise, money.”

“We are proud to support Neal in this important initiative,” said Taft Zitoun, CEO of marketing agency Revenue Frontier. “Distracted driving is an epidemic, but it’s also preventable. Using our platforms to raise awareness and change behaviors can help make a real difference in tackling this issue.”

Broadcast Partners syndicates television shows to networks and broadcast TV stations across the U.S., reaching more than 70 million households.
