WEEKLY SYNDICATION RATINGS ROUNDUP

‘Jeopardy’ Jumps To The Top Of The Games

The veteran quizzer hosted by Alex Trebek jumped 11% to a 7.0 live-plus-same-day national Nielsen rating, while Family Feud — which had been first or tied for first in the genre for the past three weeks — had no answer, slipping 3% to a 6.9.

Jeopardy created buzz with a double-digit increase in the session ending May 3, and edged ahead of Family Feud, taking sole possession of first place in the game show race for the first time in four weeks.

The veteran quizzer hosted by Alex Trebek jumped 11% to a 7.0 live-plus-same-day national Nielsen rating, while Feud — which had been first or tied for first in the genre for the past three weeks — had no answer, slipping 3% to a 6.9.

Elsewhere in access, Entertainment Tonight, which rose 4% to a 2.7 in households, as well as 10% among women 25-54, and Access Hollywood, which heated up 9% toa 1.2 in households and surged 20% in the key demo, were the fastest growing magazines in the ratings.

Inside Edition took first place in the group with an unchanged 2.8.

In earlier dayparts, many shows were once again infected with tons of preemptions for news of the coronavirus outbreak, so it was difficult for them make any headway, although a few strips did move up.

The two highest-rated daytime programs were both courtroom shows and both came from Judith Sheindlin. Judge Judy was the daytime leader by 4 rating points, climbing 2% to a robust 6.2 despite being in repeats for most of the week. And Judy’s creation Hot Bench beat everything else with a 5% advance to a four-week high 2.2.
