Syndicated Programming’s Future In A Multiplatform World At Programming Everywhere

Programming leaders from Gray, E.W. Scripps, Sinclair and Graham Media will discuss how they’re finding creative ways to bring out fresh content in a tightly constricted syndication market during a panel at TVNewsCheck’s Programming Everywhere conference at the NAB Show on April 14. Register here.

Programming executives are facing an acute challenge as they look to offer fresh, creative new shows with budgets tighter than ever. How they crack it — whether cultivating more in-house shows, developing programs to share between groups or working with the studios on leaner budgets — will be the subject of a panel, The Future of Syndicated Programming in a Multiplatform World, at TVNewsCheck’s Programming Everywhere conference at the NAB Show in Las Vegas on April 14.

Matt Jaquint, senior managing VP and CRO, Gray Television; Tom Zappala, head of programming, national networks, E.W. Scripps; Dave Howitt, SVP of programming, Sinclair; and Stephanie Slagle, VP and chief innovation officer, Graham Media Group will join moderator Paige Albiniak, TVNewsCheck contributing editor, for the 4:15 p.m. PT discussion.

“This session will tackle all the key questions facing syndication urgently right now,” said Michael Depp, chief content officer for NewsCheckMedia and editor, TVNewsCheck. “How will streaming, particularly FAST channels, continue to shape and help monetize the syndication market? How can station groups work with each other to develop viable, inexpensive programming options? And perhaps most important, how do stations keep sufficiently compelling shows on all their platforms at the economic levels they’re willing to sustain?”

Programming Everywhere convenes programming executives, leaders in news, digital and streaming, technologists, talent and content creators from across multiple media to catalyze new thinking for TV’s future. Other panels include:
