Ateme Powers Encoding Platform For Antina Televisión In Argentina

Ateme, a global provider of video compression and delivery solutions, has implemented its TITAN encoding solution for Antina Televisión, a provider of digital HD pay TV services in Argentina, at several locations in the Buenos Aires metropolitan area.

Delivering enhanced quality and density for 37 HD channels, the Ateme TITAN encoders replace Antina’s legacy encoding technology, providing Antina with “a future-proof solution that is easy to manage and backed by specialist local support,” Ateme says.

Ateme’s Titan encoders, the company says, “deliver the highest quality content at the lowest bitrate to delight audiences — including UHD, 4K, and HDR.” Through a flexible licensing model, Ateme’s technology is implemented across multiple sites, with programming now delivered to customers via microwave links using the DVB-T2 standard.

The implementation of Titan “also provides Antina with a future-proof solution, easily updated as new codecs are released,” Ateme says.

“We have been extremely impressed with the performance and quality that comes with Ateme’s solution,” said Alejandro Checchin, Antina head of engineering. “Ateme was chosen following a proof-of-concept process, where it delivered significant quality and administration advantages over products from alternative manufacturers.”
