IBC: EVS To Unveil VIA MAP For Live Content Creation And Management

EVS, provider of live video technology, announced what the company called in a press release “a significant stride in its mission to reshape the landscape of live content creation and media management”: the introduction of VIA MAP, which bridges content creation and live production with the world of content distribution and review.

“Reflecting EVS’ visionary PlayForward strategy introduced in 2020, VIA MAP stands as a bold move in the company’s progression towards a cohesive and open ecosystem that resonates with the dynamic demands of today’s media landscape,” the company statement said. “This platform is the culmination of EVS’ technological evolution and now forms the backbone of several solutions, including LiveCeption for live replays and highlights, MediaCeption for asset management, MediaHub for distribution and monetization, and PowerVision® for reviewing and mission-critical decision making.”

It also leverages EVS’ flexible and future-ready MediaInfra solutions, the release said, allowing customers to leverage its IP-based backbone in live video operations through advanced routing, monitoring, orchestrating and media processing flows.

“VIA MAP is the crowning achievement within EVS’ premium live ecosystem, facilitating a seamless journey from live story conception to distribution and beyond. This empowers content professionals not only to efficiently create and manage media assets, but also to strategically use them for distribution and monetization across various media channels.” said Nicolas Bourdon, Chief Marketing Officer at EVS.

“By fusing these two domains, EVS offers a unique platform that maximizes content value and operational efficiency, ensuring that creators can focus on their craft while simultaneously expanding their reach and revenue streams,” he added.

VIA MAP comprises a series of applications and back-end engines:

BRAND CONNECTIONS

Core engine: A dynamic suite of tools encompassing smart ingest, playout management, import/export capabilities, and a highly intuitive search and browsing system.

Data engine: Incorporating external data sources, intuitive manual data generation interfaces and AI-powered assistance, the Data Engine provides streamlined and automated processes designed to optimize workflows.

OpenGate API: A versatile API gateway that flawlessly integrates third-party systems.
Built upon a microservices-based foundation, VIA MAP permeates every aspect of our technology and solution delivery. The diverse applications and core engines composing the platform establish a flexible and scalable environment for our customers, enabling a seamless transition from traditional production models to a fully cohesive media environment,” stated Alex Redfern, CTO at EVS.

“The introduction of VIA MAP is a direct outcome of the strategic investments EVS has made in Research & Development resources over the past years, which have been progressively capitalized upon,” the company said. “As expected, these investments are currently yielding returns and should accelerate the company’s growth in the coming years, starting from 2024.”

EVS will be exhibiting at IBC2023, stand A.25 in hall 10 to showcase its latest advancements in live replays, asset management, content distribution, and officiating, as well as to highlight the tangible benefits of their open ecosystem powered by VIA MAP.
