He joins from KING Seattle to oversee technical operations at Nexstar’s Bay Area MyNetworkTV affiliate.

Nexstar Media Group’s MyNetworkTV affiliate KRON San Francisco today appointed Dick Trumbo chief engineer.

For the past six years, Trumbo was head of technology and operations at KING Seattle where he was responsible for all technical and facility operations. Previously, during his tenure, he held many roles at the station, including technical support crew chief.

He started his career at a radio station in East Wenatchee, Wash., then transitioning to television which took him to Texas, Kansas and Indiana before returning to the Pacific Northwest.

“I am ecstatic to continue my career at such a prestigious, highly regarded, legacy broadcast operation,” Trumbo said.

Jim Rose, KRON vice president and general manager, said: “We are thrilled to have one of the best in business joining our team. His deep understanding of broadcast engineering and operations will serve us well as we continue to deliver more local news than any other station in the Bay Area.”
