WEEKLY SYNDICATION RATINGS ROUNDUP

‘Access Hollywood’ The Sole Magazine To Advance

There was very little movement across first-run syndication's genres in the slow summer week ending July 18.

Jeopardy with guest host George Stephanopoulos inched up 2% from the week before to a 4.8 live-plus-same-day national Nielsen rating in the session ending July 18, but failed to threaten Family Feud, which fell 2% to a 5.5 but outplayed the game shows for the 13th week in a row and led all of syndication.

Access Hollywood was the only magazine to move up, forging ahead 14% to a 0.8 and overtaking TMZ, which had edged it the week before. Access Hollywood averaged more than 1.1 million viewers each day.

Among sitcoms, Big Bang Theory hit a new series low with a 9% decline to a 2.1.

In daytime, summer PUT levels were extremely low. In fact, just one talk show was able to gain ground, namely newcomer Drew Barrymore, which motored ahead 25% to a 0.5 despite being in repeats on all five days. Barrymore battled to a tie with Dr. Oz, which dropped 17% to a 0.5.

Live with Kelly and Ryan remained the one to beat in the closely watched category, topping the talkers for a 10th straight week with a steady 1.7. Live also had the best year-over-year performance of any first-run category leader, improving 6%.

Judge Judy dipped 2% to a 4.9 with repeats on most days, but ruled the court shows as it has done every week for the past 25 years. Judy’s creation Hot Bench, had the honor of being the sole gaveler going up, spiking 7% to a three-week high 1.5.

BRAND CONNECTIONS

The top talk shows for the week among women 25-54 were:
