Bounce TV Adds WUSA Washington

This latest deal with Gannett puts the new over-the-air multicast network targeted to African Americans at more than 50% coverage of the U.S.

Bounce TV, the new broadcast TV network for African Americans, today signed a distribution agreement with Gannett Broadcasting that will make Gannett’s WUSA the exclusive provider of Bounce TV in Washington (DMA 9).

The agreement is Bounce TV’s second with a Gannett station; the network is also carried by Gannett’s WATL Atlanta.  In addition to Washington and Atlanta, Bounce TV is seen in Chicago, Philadelphia, Houston, Cleveland/Akron, San Francisco, Milwaukee, Charlotte, Cincinnati, Indianapolis, Kansas City, Hartford/New Haven, Norfolk, Dayton, West Palm Beach, Birmingham, Memphis, Louisville and Richmond, Va, among other cities.

In the six months since entering the marketplace, the pioneering Bounce TV has cleared over 50% of the country and landed distribution agreements with major station groups including Gannett, Raycom Media, LIN TV Corp., Nexstar Communications, Belo Corp. and Meredith Broadcasting. With the addition of Washington, the No. 4 African-American market in the country, Bounce TV is now seen in four of the top five African-American markets.
