FCC Moves To Review Ownership Cap
In another boost to major station owners like Sinclair and Fox, yet another partisan vote by the Republican-controlled FCC moved the commission a step closer to raising or eliminating the 39% ownership cap. The rule adopted today starts a process of review that many local broadcasters and observers see as likely to result in a change to the longstanding cap, which currently limits a single owner from controlling stations with reach to more than 39% of U.S. households.

of course this policy rewards the worse groups for employees with the widest distribution.
Bought and PAId for by Sinclair whose goal is to control the airwaves. Shameful.
A friend of mine was having a conversation recently with a GM of a CBS affiliate in a small market. This is a major group owner, mind you, so in theory they should have some pull with the network. A few months after starting negotiations over renewal of their affiliation agreement, CBS came down with a 70% increase in reverse compensation – take it or leave it. They took it – what choice did they have? Just a reminder that this consolidation isn’t happening in a vacuum.
See what happens when professionals who have a clue are in charge..Get the government the H out of business. They screw up and corrupt everything they touch..Barack!!!!
Oh yeah, Pai is in line for a fat paying job with Sinclair when he’s done at the FCC. Any wagers?
