FCC Reschedules Post-Auction Webinar

It moves the event from the original date of Oct. 13 to Oct. 17 to avoid a conflict with an IEEE symposium.

The FCC said Thursday that it will host a webinar on the proposed post-incentive auction transition scheduling plan on Monday, Oct. 17, from 1 to 4 p.m. ET. Its purpose is to discuss the phased transition scheduling plan proposed by the staff “in order to foster informed feedback in the proceeding by interested parties.”

The webinar will be run by the commission’s Incentive Auction Task Force (IATF) in conjunction with the Media Bureau, Wireless Telecommunications Bureau and Office of Engineering and Technology

At the event, commission staff will provide an overview of the proposed plan and discuss related matters raised in the Transition Scheduling Public Notice released last week. In the notice, the FCC had scheduled the webinar for Thursday, Oct. 13.

However, the Institute of Electronics Engineers and the National Association of Broadcasters notified commission staff that the IEEE Broadcast Technology Society’s Annual Broadcast Symposium is being held from Oct. 12-14. As a result, many likely participants may be unable to attend the webinar. In order to encourage maximum participation, the commission decided to change the date.

Pre-registration for the webinar is not required. The webinar will be streamed live with open captioning over the Internet from the FCC’s web page at www.fcc.gov/live. The webinar slides will be posted on the broadcast incentive auction website’s Resources page (www.fcc.gov/incentiveauctions/resources) prior to the start of the webinar.

Individuals will be able to access the slides under the Notices/Guidance tab. If possible, parties are encouraged to download and/or print out a copy in advance for the participant’s reference during the webinar.

BRAND CONNECTIONS

A recording of the webinar will also be made available after the event and accessible at the same location as the webinar slides.
