The former general sales manager of KSEE Fresno, Calif., is tapped by Granite to run its NBC affiliate in Fort Wayne, Ind.
Granite Appoints Don Osika GM Of WISE
Granite Broadcasting Corp. today announced the appointment of Don Osika as president and general manager of NBC-MNT affiliate WISE Fort Wayne, Ind. (DMA 109). WISE also provides various services for the market’s ABC-CW affil WPTA. He joins the station from KSEE Fresno, Calif., where he has been general sales manager since 2010. Osika succeeds Jerry Giesler who left the station three weeks ago.
Osika is a broadcasting veteran. He landed a parttime job in news in 1989 at WTWO while completing his master’s degree at Indiana State University in Terre Haute, Indiana. He would remain at WTWO for the next 13 years, moving from news to advertising sales, then local sales manager, general sales manager and director of sales overseeing revenue for both the NBC and Fox stations.
A promotion within his company brought him to Champaign, Ill., where he remained the director of sales of WCIA for six years.
