Harris broadcast communications division opens Miami office

Harris Corp.’s Broadcast Communications Division will open a new Miami office on Feb. 1. The company said the new office will “improve communications between regional Harris representatives and customers located throughout the area,” including Central America, South America and the Caribbean.

Harris’ recent acquisition of Leitch Technology, the company said, “means that the company will offer a significant amount of resources to Latin American and Caribbean broadcasters, revitalizing the commitment of Harris’ entire Broadcast Communications Division to the market. Leitch’s seven-year presence in the Miami office means that the two forces can directly collaborate for new business development, improved customer support and a greater regional presence.”

The new office will be overseen by Nahuel Villegas, regional director for television and radio, Harris Caribbean and Latin America, and will feature a showroom to display various end-to-end content delivery value propositions as well as products and solutions from all business units within the Harris Broadcast Communications Division.
