WEEKLY SYNDICATION RATINGS ROUNDUP

Most Syndies Flat Or Down In Nov. Sweep

The only first-run offerings to show increases from last November are Dr. Phil, Judge Judy, Jeopardy and Inside Edition.

Judge Judy rolled to an easy November sweeps win as syndication’s highest-rated show, according to results for the key Oct. 26-Nov. 22 survey period just released by Nielsen.

Judy raced to a strong first-place 7.3 live-plus-same-day national sweep average, which was greater than the total of the five other nationally rated court shows combined.

This was the third straight November that Judy has been No. 1 overall, and its third-best November in the past 10 years.

Also standing out in November, Dr. Phil waltzed to its sixth consecutive November sweeps victory among the talkers, winning by its largest margin ever and hitting its highest sweep rating of any month in the last 10 years, a lofty 3.7.

Live with Kelly and Ryan and Ellen DeGeneres finished in a tie for second in talk, with both logging a 2.4 average.

Meanwhile, in home and top market New York Live scored a time period-winning 3.1 rating/11 share and more than doubled the 1.3/5 for the new Megyn Kelly Today hour that it competes against head-to-head. Megyn was down 35% from what its Today hour did last November.

BRAND CONNECTIONS

On the positive side, the new Steve, hosted by Steve Harvey, grew 8% from its September premiere to a 1.4 in its first sweep, tying Wendy Williams.

Also of note, true crime franchise Crime Watch Daily, in its third season, increased its audience 25% since its 2015 debut to a 1.0 and grew by double digits from last November in both New York and Los Angeles.

Among the first-run newcomers, Daily Mail TV was the most-watched, drawing more than 1.3 million daily viewers and improving 11% from its September premiere to a 1.0 average.

Finishing a close second was rookie Page Six TV, which climbed 14% from its September opening week to a 0.8, matching its series record high.

In access, Family Feud was the top-rated game show with a 6.5.

Entertainment Tonight took highest magazine honors with a 3.1, edging sister show Inside Edition’s 3.0, with Access Hollywood next, moving up to third place from last November and tying TMZ at a 1.4.

Rounding out the top five: Extra posted a 1.2 while clocking triple-digit annual increases in several metered markets.

  • Live with Kelly and Ryan (1.1 average, -8%)
