NBCU Reups ‘Steve Harvey’ For Season 2

NBCUniversal Domestic TV Distribution’s new syndicated talk shows Steve Harvey, a freshman hit, has been renewed for a second season.

NBCUniversal Domestic TV Distribution today renewed Steve Harvey for its second season in national syndication.

The show is currently cleared in 98% of the U.S., including on all of the NBC Owned Television stations. Since the show’s debut, markets that are upgrading Steve Harvey include Detroit; Phoenix; Portland, Ore.; Pittsburgh; Raleigh, N.C.; Baltimore; Cincinnati; Salt Lake City; Oklahoma City; Austin, Texas; Buffalo, N.Y.; Fresno, Calif.; Fort Meyers, Fla.; Tucson, Ariz.; Honolulu; Des Moines, Iowa; Madison, Wis.; Tri Cities and Burlington, Vt., among others.

In addition, NBCUniversal is actively extending the show with stations across the U.S. for 2014-16.

“The instant success of Steve Harvey with the daytime audience is being greeted with long term commitments from our station partners,” said NBCU’s Barry Wallach, president, NBCUniversal Domestic Television Distribution.

According to NBCU, Steve Harvey is the only new syndicated strip to increase over year-ago time periods, build on its lead-in and grow in consecutive quarter-hour ratings among Households and Women 25-54.  In fact, Steve Harvey is one of only four syndicated talk shows over the last decade to accomplish all three of these feats in its premiere November sweep, alongside Dr. Phil, Ellen and Dr. Oz, NBCU says.

Steve Harvey is produced by Endemol USA with Steve Harvey, Alex Duda and Rushion McDonald serving as executive producers. The show is distributed in national syndication by NBCUniversal Domestic Television Distribution.
