WEEKLY SYNDICATION RATINGS ROUNDUP

‘Phil’ Widens Lead, ‘Harry’ Grows Stronger

Game shows also report strong performances in the week ending Oct. 2, with four of the top five posting improved ratings.

Harry, the only nationally rated newcomer to first-run syndication this season, attracted most of the attention in the session ending Oct. 2, improving 8% to 1.3 live-plus-same-day Nielsen stat. Compared to the already established talk shows, Harry’s performance equaled or exceeded such long-running strips as Rachel Ray, Steve Wilkos, Jerry Springer and Dr. Oz.

Dr. Phil, the highest rated talker, widened its lead, advancing 3% to a 3.4, and growing 10% from last year for the biggest annual gain in the category. Among women 25-54, Phil was also easily first with a 1.6 in the key demo.

Live with Kelly dipped 4% to a 2.4 household rating, but had no trouble maintaining its hold on second place.

In access, The Insider had the sharpest advance among the magazines, jumping 9% to a 19-week high 1.2.

Entertainment Tonight eased 3% to a 3.3, but led the field for the ninth straight frame.

Judge Judy gave back 3% to a 6.9, but outperformed last year by 1% and finished first overall on the syndication leader board for the ninth consecutive week.
