‘Seinfeld’ Getting Fifth Cycle In Syndication

Sony Pictures Television’s comedy continues its syndication run through 2017.

Sony Pictures Television today announced the sale of a fifth cycle of the show that has been called “the greatest sitcom of all time,” Seinfeld, solidifying the show’s run in syndication through 2017.

“Seinfeld is the greatest television show ever,” says John Weiser, president, U.S. Distribution for Sony Pictures Television. “With this renewal, viewers will be able to enjoy the show for many more years into the future.”

The deal extends Seinfeld’s clearances in more than 90% of the country, continuing its broadcast run on such highly ranked stations as  WPIX New York, KCOP Los Angeles and WCIU Chicago, also supported by strong stations groups including, Tribune, Fox, CBS, Sinclair, Local, Raycom, Cox and Hubbard across the country among many others.

An Emmy and Golden Globe winner for Best Comedy Series, Seinfeld is one of the most popular, most award-winning and longest-running comedy series of all time. It is a Shapiro/West production in association with Castle Rock Entertainment.  It is distributed in national syndication by Sony Pictures Television.  National advertising is managed by Sony Pictures Television Advertiser Sales.
